Food and Funds for Salt Lake County’s Food Pantries.
According to the Utah Food Bank, 1 in 7 Utah children faces hunger. Utah’s food pantries have also seen a surge in consumption without a proportionate surge in donations.
Older Utahns are currently facing increased health and food access challenges due to the pandemic, and are more likely to develop nutrition-related health problems because of it. This is especially concerning considering the increased health, financial, and nutritional challenges that can occur with aging.
Volunteers will donate money and/or non-perishable foods to the Utah Food Bank. Every dollar donated equates to $7.66 worth of benefit to food pantries and individuals in need of food.
