Service Project: Funds Drive to Purchase Much-needed Equipment

Approximately 45% of students of the Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind (USDB) come from low-income families who are unable to afford devices and technology needed to assist their child. USDB students are in need of devices and technology (e.g. white canes, hearing aids, braille books, etc.) to assist in educational instruction and development. USDB is in need of cash donations to provide resources and assistive technology to meet the extra curricular needs of deaf and/or blind children in Utah. Donations will go towards assistive devices such as hearing aids, white canes and technology.

About Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind

The Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind provides education for children from birth to age 22 who are deaf and/or blind. The Utah legislature provides funding to cover the basics for school activities at USDB, but sometimes the families of these unique children need a little more help. Hearing aids, glasses, white canes, unique technology and other learning opportunities can be provided with the support of the Foundation. USDB provides overhead and administrative resources for the Foundation, allowing 100% of donations to go directly to the children. This gives individuals, foundations, and corporations an opportunity to donate and make a real difference in the life of a child.
