Mural Painting to Benefit Rare Disease Patients

Mural Painting by Kaylee Rakowski

Led by Canyon Rim-area artist Kalyee Rakowski, this year’s mural will honor local rare disease patients and their families. We’ll be painting a 65′ stretch on the south end of the park, beautifying a cinder block section of the park’s wall. Executed as a paint-by-number piece of art, any volunteer may participate in the painting of the mural.

Kaylee Rakowski is a self-trained painter who has lived in the Canyon Rim area for several years. She creates vibrant, wet-on-wet oil paintings that capture the essence of the wilderness—from tranquil forests to blooming meadows. Each piece is a reflection of her connection to the sights and sounds of nature, crafted with the intention of bringing a sense of peace and wonder.

About Utah Rare Disease Advisory Council

The Utah Rare Disease Advisory Council (RDAC) was formed under HB 106 during the 2020 legislative session of the Utah Legislature (Utah code 26-1-41). The RDAC is an advising body that provides a platform for those in Utah’s rare disease community to have a stronger voice in state government. Several other states have established RDAC which have resulted in providing stakeholders an opportunity to make recommendations to state leaders on critical issues including the need for increased awareness, improved diagnostic tools, and expanded access to affordable treatments.
