Tanner Park Clean Up
A Better Park For Our Community
Tanner Park is need of our assistance. We’ve teamed with both Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation and Tree Utah to identify the needs within Tanner Park and utilize a significant number of volunteers to do what couldn’t be done otherwise. The service project will include two parts:
- Tree Maintenance
- Clean Up of Fountain/Rock Area
Day of Service Project Overview
Tree Maintainance
There are 16 trees in Tanner Park that are in need of maintenance. Volunteers will gather at Tanner Park at 7 a.m. to work with Tree Utah to mulch the trees and perform other maintenance on the trees. Volunteers will break just before 9 a.m. to join the breakfast and kick-off meeting at Canyon Rim Park. Volunteers should bring a shovel and work gloves.
Fountain/Rock Area
The fountain/rock area is in disrepair. Volunteers will cut back overgrowth of vegetation and clean up the area as guided by representatives from Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation. Volunteers should bring work gloves and gardening tools such as shovels, rakes and gardening shears/scissors. Volunteers for this section of the project will meet at Canyon Rim Park for the kick-off meeting and breakfast at 9 a.m. and then move to Tanner Park. We anticipate that this project will go until 11 a.m.
