About Project Connection

According to US Census Bureau, in 2019 1 in 10 adults reported symptoms of anxiety or depression. Since COVID that number has tripled.  In 2021 more than 37% of students reported they experienced poor mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic, and 44% reported they persistently felt sad or hopeless during the past year.  The direct outcome of the disconnection we experienced during COVID has been increased anxiety, depression, social isolation, relationship issues, etc. Project Connection believes that by providing opportunities for connection within families and in our community, they can help reduce these mental health struggles that have increased dramatically since COVID.

Project Connection is a nonprofit mental health agency serving residents of Salt Lake County. Their mission is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals and families in the community. They believe this is done by providing access to quality mental health services that are evidence-based and trauma-informed. They also believe that people do better when they are connected, integrated, and supported in the community.

Therefore, in addition to traditional mental health services, they provide opportunities for clients to connect with others in their mental health goals and in the community. They strive to decrease the stigma of mental illness through education, advocacy, and connection.

Project Connection addresses issues of mental health care accessibility, affordability, and quality of care for unfunded/underfunded individuals in Salt Lake County by providing affordable, accessible, trauma-informed, mental health care and opportunities for connection and growth beyond therapy through community programs.
