Construction of Outdoor Classroom for Millcreek Elementary

Service Project: Outdoor Classroom
As a Title 1 school, at least 40% of the students at Millcreek Elementary come from low-income families. Volunteers will build and install garden boxes and other parts of the outdoor classroom, such as white board, arbors, etc. at Millcreek Elementary. Any proceeds raised will help purchase other supplies necessary for the outdoor classroom and support the Millcreek Promise Program.
Friday July 15, 4:00-8:00 PM
Cut and pre assembly of wood for garden boxes, set lawn edging.
Useful things to bring:
- Gloves
- Safety goggles
- Knee pads
- Drill/driver for screws (cordless preferred)
- Hammer/ small sledgehammer
Saturday, July 16 9:00-noon
Assemble garden boxes in place, fill with grow mix soil, assemble picnic tables, spread gravel mix in open areas.
Useful things to bring:
- Gloves
- Safety goggles
- Knee Pads
- Sturdy shoes/boots
- Drill/driver for screws (cordless preferred)
- Wheelbarrow
- Shovel (square mouth preferred)
- Bow rake
